“LEARNING SKILLS FOR LIFE”

A Positive and Personalised Approach to Learning.
We specialise in all areas of learning difficulties and special needs including Dyslexia, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). We offer full diagnostic educational assessments, advice, support and remedial tuition.

At The Hills Learning Centre, children and their parents are offered a very positive and personalised approach to learning, mentoring and support.

Children thrive in a positive environment, which is why at The Hills Learning Centre, only positive reinforcement is used during our lessons. Children are positively reinforced with verbal praise and are encouraged and supported to build on their own 'personal best' each session. This approach results in a more positive self-esteem where the children feel that they 'CAN;' do it! Our mantra is 'I CAN...' and the skills the children learn will empower them to be life-long learners.

No two children are ever alike, so the 'one-size fits all' approach that many other learning centres offer, just doesn't work in the long run. This is why at The Hills Learning Centre, each child is treated on a personal level to cater for his/her individual educational, social and cultural needs.

The job of 'Parenting' can sometimes be daunting, lonely and challenging at the best of times, but even more so for parents raising children with learning, behavioural or developmental needs. The Hills Learning Centre offers free support to parents through a monthly Parent Support Group and regular contact with the centre’s educational consultant and staff.

Starting Kindergarten can be an anxious time for young children and their parents. Here at The Hills Learning Centre, we aim to make that transition into school a smooth and positive experience for the children and their parents by offering a pre-school program and school readiness course that helps to build a love for learning, independence, confidence and the basic fundamental skills that the children will need to successfully LEARN, WORK and PLAY well. We use the National Guidelines for Best Practice in Early Childhood Intervention as a framework for excellence in service delivery, enabling us to access the latest research and advice on disability support for young children.
